SPAW Editor 2.0.3

SPAW Editor PHP Edition version 2.0.3 is available for download from our download page

We have added a feature to customize predefined colors in colorpicker,
implemented an optional feature to convert special characters to html entities like ©, —, etc., and brought back highly requested quick image insert feature from SPAW 1.x. Fix for an ugly bug when editor wasn’t usable over HTTPS under Firefox is also included.

Not everything what was planned for this release was implemented but we thought that these changes are too important to just sit on them while we implement other features and fixes.

Here’s a complete change log:

  1. FEATURE ADDED: optional feature to convert special characters to respectable html entities like © etc.
  2. FEATURE ADDED: added a feature to quickly insert an image (in SPAW 1.x style)
  3. FEATURE ADDED: predefined colors in color picker dialog could be customized
  4. BUGFIX: removed unnecessary empty lines at the end of most language files
  5. BUGFIX: numbered list items where rendered with value=”-1″ under Firefox
  6. BUGFIX: SpawFm plugin: removed empty spaces in the end of include files
  7. BUGFIX: under Gecko content area wasn’t editable after the first load when working over HTTPS
  8. BUGFIX: additional bugfix for https under firefox issue: images were rendered as broken in editor
  9. BUGFIX: SpawFm plugin: files were not listed when using HTTPS with Firefox
  10. BUGFIX: SPAW usurped document’s mousemove and mouseup events
  11. COSMETIC FIX: removed extra quote from the dialog_footer.tpl in spaw2 theme

    Hi!

    Any chance this will work in WordPress 2.1x ???

    We REALLY need a new editor.

    Has any plugin been developed?

    Theoretically there’s no reason why SPAW wouldn’t work in WordPress but someone (preferably with WordPress knowledge) has to integrate it. Actually we are very interested for this to happen. Unfortunatelly we have no experience with WordPress code so we need to invest time in studying it and we don’t currently have much time. But we will definitely provide all the help we can to someone who decides to do this.

    But why it doesn’t work with Opera Browser ?

    There are 2 major issues that bother me:
    1. - the editor chooses size texts that are interpreted in different ways by IE as opposed to Mozilla (so no way to make a commo size unless we use code)

    2. - when you paste a document from Word it messes up all formating you may have set up in your code (when using a cms)

    one more quetsion:
    Why file manager don’t want to upload ane files?
    When I ativate it, in that window enable ony 2 buttons: Choose and Cansel.
    Button for upload is inactive always.

    you can upload different files to the server.

    Ailon: to one from sites which i create was uploaded php file which changes titles of all news on the site on “owned” blabla…..
    In this moment somebody execute dialog.php

    О, дак ты русский оказывается =)
    Короче, кто-то залил файл который менял все заголовки новостей, в этот момент как показали логи апача кто-то обращался к dialog.php
    хотя возможно я и могу ошибаться, может быть это один из редакторов юзал в это время визивиг.

    SwiZZeR: in case uploading is allowed in config file then anyone who can upload the files. It is recommended to leave uploading disabled in config file (default value) and allow uploading in your script based on user permissons.

    hi,dear support team guy!i just wanna ask one problem about the upload file types.i cannot upload other types like .doc but the image types and the flash types .i checked the forum.and found some answers.but it doesn’t work.where do the solution(the solution related in the forum) codes insert into in the config file. Thks very much
